About
Kerf & Swarf documents my pursuit of the well-made thing. When I am not creating a meaningful and beautiful thing, I am studying meaningful and beautiful things.
With degrees in Product Design and Art History from Stanford University, I spent the past two decades splitting my career between teaching and curating at museums and mechanical engineering at technology firms trying to solve medical, clean energy, food sustainability, transportation, and communication problems.
On a sabbatical from high technology, I studied fine woodworking at The Krenov School (College of the Redwoods) in Fort Bragg, CA, developing my craft as a woodworker and furniture designer.
I currently create in a cooperative woodshop in Berkeley, CA.
